Kari’s Birth

[Note from Julie: I met Kari through my Blissborn Hypnosis series. She knew she would be induced at 39 weeks and she set a goal to miss that induction! I honestly didn’t think it would work. My students are forever reminding me to raise the bar higher! I was over the moon when I got the text at 11:30pm on 12/26 that they had done it! Now, on to Kari’s story…]

Lincoln was born on 12/26 at 8:31pm! He was 7lb 5oz and 20.5in.

I started early labor at about 3:30am after taking the first round of Julie’s induction concoction. I went about my day and even baked a round of bread! I started having heavier contractions around 10am but they seemed to just stay in the same rhythm. I took the second round of the concoction at 1pm. I was scheduled for an induction at 4:30pm and was determined to go naturally.

At 3pm I was on the phone trying to cancel my induction because I knew he was coming that night. They gave me a hard time but by 4pm they had canceled it. Shortly after that I must have stopped talking because the next thing I knew Brandon, called our doula, Ali Teeslink, who told him to get me to the hospital (Patewood Memorial). I listened to a Blissborn hypnosis script the whole ride there totally zoned out.

We got checked in at 5:30pm and I made sure I asked for a tub room. My doula started the water and in the tub I went. I still had my head phones on and turned it over to the birthing script and zoned out again. At 8pm, the doctor, with Greenville OB came in for the first time and checked me… I was ready to go. They didn’t let me birth in the tub but I was ok knowing the time had come. We moved to the bed and 30mins later and a few big big pushes he was here! It all happened faster than I thought and pretty damn quick from what I can remember.
